Epicurean delights in the Three Valleys

Courchevel's best restaurants

Fine dining in the Three Valleys

With nine Michelin stars in the Three Valleys, we're spoilt for choice

Just across the piste from Chic Chalet's Jamais Bleu, La Tania has its very own Michelin-star restaurant which we would definitely recommend visiting during your stay. Le Farçon will celebrate it's 10th Michelin star anniversary this winter. Situated at the foot of the pistes in La Tania (on the left as you ski in), this friendly restaurant is small but with plenty of space beween tables.

At lunchtime the set menu is 32 Euros for three courses, or 56 in the evening for four. This includes all the delicious little surprises between courses - our favourite being strips of Beaufort cheese, lightly covered in breadcrumbs and shallow fried. The menu changes regularly, but to give an example: on the last visit we enjoyed a fillet of fera (from Lake Geneva) lightly cooked with citrus foam and a delightful pear soufflé with caramel and chocolate.

There's an extensive wine list with local Savoie wines well represented. With coffee we were served delicious petit fours and afterwards the waiter brought chocolate truffles and sweets, which we couldn’t resist. For a one star restaurant, this is great value for money and really worth a visit whilst you are on holiday.

L'Azimut in Le Praz is very unassuming and hidden away next to the butchers on the road heading down the valley; you could easily miss it. Don't! The food and service are both well worthy of the Michelin star. The menu features all sorts of delicious treats and the dishes arrive looking truly beautiful. The little touches such as the amuse bouches, sorbets etc. make your meal really special. Menus from 28 Euros.

Le Chabichou in Courchevel 1850 has two stars and is set in a magnificent white building next to the piste. The food is very special and you'll have a real taste of luxury when you dine here. There's also a rather luxurious spa here which is well worth adding onto the day's schedule!

Courchevel 1850 is predictably the place with most stars. Adding to the Chabichou's two there are also two in Le Strato, in Le Cheval Blanc, the restaurant 1947 holds two, as does Les Airelles and La Table de Kilimandjaro.

Venturing further afield, Val Thorens has L'Oxalys and there's La Bouitte in St Martin which also has a spa and comes very highly recommended.
